Brampton Portrait Studio Collection

Antique photo of two well dressed young girls During the 1970s, a worker found over 3500 pieces of glass in the attic of a store on Main Street North in Brampton. Each piece was an image of a person, group or place. These glass negatives were used long ago to print photographs. They were packed and carefully moved to PAMA Archives.

The images date from the 1880s to the 1910s. We believe the photographers were G. Rawe, and W. Dawson. There are names for about 1500 of the negatives. Read our Brampton Portrait Studio Collection document to see the full description and surname list. You can also see scans of many of the images at the Archives.
