PAMA Kids and Family

PAMA is a place for children to explore their artistic talents and learn about Peel's history and heritage. We offer a variety of workshops, programs and camps suitable for children ages 6 to 12+. Caregivers must accompany children unless otherwise noted.

Family Fun Activities

Saturdays and Sundays, 1 - 4:30 p.m.
Guide your family through art projects that inspire creativity. These drop-in activities are included in the cost of general admission. Members are free.

Sunday FUNdays

Third Sundays, 1 - 4 p.m.
Engage with art through special activities for the whole family based on the exhibitions and themes throughout the Art Gallery, Museum and Archives. 
  • Jun. 16 - Pre-summer solstice celebration with activities that are fun in the sun. 
  • Jul. 21 - Explore art with bubbles and create your own works that pop.
  • Aug. 18 - Explore the graphic novel exhibition in a new way, learn the basics of comic art.
These drop-ins are included in general admission. Members are free.

PAMA Kids Summer Camp (Ages 6 - 12)

9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Campers will imagine, explore, and play each fun-filled day! Inspired by PAMA's current exhibitions and the great outdoors, campers will engage in a variety of daily activities within PAMA and at various parks and outdoor spaces within walking distance (weather permitting). Not only will they create their own masterpieces, but they will be entertained by weekly special guests and explore art and history in new ways. Camp programs are designed for ages 6 - 12 years.

Public Price: $225 per week. Member Price: $191.25. Pre-registration required.

July 8 to 12 - Comic Craze
From comic strips to murals and flipbooks, you will learn a variety of drawing techniques in this week of crazy comics. Local artist Jason Wilkins will teach the art of caricatures as you create your own stories and characters while exploring comic art and graphic novels. Join us to bring your characters to life and take them on wild adventures! Register here.

July 15 to 19 - Move & Create
Move, groove and create in this fun-filled week exploring art in motion! Create and play with shapes, colours, textures and materials as you explore the idea that art is more than a painting on a wall. Explore the art of dance and make your own music video with a special visit from In the Mix! Register here.

July 22 to 26 - Sculpt It
Working with clay, cardboard, paper and more; take your imagination off the page and outside the box! You will explore the connections between art and science as Mad Science join us to invent for ourselves. Transform a piece of paper into a sculptural work of art and explore different materials as you create your own 3D works. Register here.

July 29 to Aug. 2 - Colourful Creations
Mix and match your favourite colours and explore what you can create with the rainbow as you make your own masterpieces. Scientists in School will join us to explore colours in a new way. Use your imagination and bring colours to life through paintings, sculptures, printmaking and more! Register here.

Summer Camp

August Staycation: Sensory Exploration

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Join us for Summer Staycations where you can explore the archives, museum, and art gallery and create your own artworks in a variety of fun-filled activities.
  • Aug. 6 - Explore your sense of touch by creating your own animal sculpture. Come meet Creature Quest and their scaly, furry and feathered friends (11 a.m. - 2 p.m.).
  • Aug. 8 - Use your sense of sight to explore the exhibit Selections from the Vault and find the unique landscapes then make your own picturesque artwork.
  • Aug. 13 - Test your knowledge and instincts to follow the map and see what you can find. Maybe it leads somewhere new and exciting. Join us and create your own treasure map!
  • Aug. 15 - A farm is a whole sensory experience with different sounds, smells and sights! Visit the Face of the Farmer exhibition and create your own farm inspired artwork.
  • Aug. 20 - Use your super sight to find something in the art gallery that is black and white with words and pictures. After exploring For a Social Cause: Graphic Novels exhibition, be inspired and create your own comic art.
  • Aug. 22 - Bumps, grooves and edges are only some of the things you'll feel with collagraph printmaking. Touch and feel all the different textures that make different patterns and use printmaking techniques to create your own.
  • Aug. 27 - Different colours can be seen, smelt and tasted. Explore your senses and all the crazy colours in Manning Square before creating your own rainbow inspired masterpiece.
  • Aug. 29 - Banging, clanging and ringing are only some of the sounds that musical instruments can make. Identify different instruments just by hearing them and make a musical instrument of your own
