PAMA is a place for children to explore their artistic talents and learn about Peel's history and heritage. We offer a variety of workshops, programs and camps suitable for children ages 6 to 12+.

Family Drumming Workshop with Nader Khan

Sunday, June 24, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
#Nader Drumming
Emphasizing drum beats and rhythms, the program aims to educate young learners about Arab, South Asian, and North African cultural music and its prevalence in north American musical traditions.
Learners will interact and play different drums, beats, accents and enjoy musical traditions from around the world. We will discuss the historical and social context of these various traditions and participate in creating our own beats and compositions with provided drum instruments. Reserve your spot now

PAMA Kids Summer Camp

July 9 to 27, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Campers will build, explore, and make colourful creations each day of camp. Join us for indoor and outdoor play (weather permitting) plus exciting new themes each week they will have a blast and learn a few things too. 

  • July 9 to 13 - The Great Outdoors 
    Are you ready to enjoy the great outdoors? This week is full of outdoor play, water art, gardening and sculptures. Explore what PAMA has to offer in this sun-filled week. Reserve your spot now.
  • July 16 to 20 - Incredible Kids
    Channel your inner hero and get ready to create from animation to comics, sculpture and games. The incredible stories within our walls will inspire all things super. Reserve your spot now.
  • July 23 to 27- Wildlife Week
    Take a walk on the wild side and travel through the rainforest, desert and jungle. Put on your explorer hats to create wild life inspired prints, paintings and so much more. Reserve your spot now.

Our camp is designed for ages 6 - 12 and the cost is $185 per week. Programming is subject to change, please check our site to confirm programming details.

In Partnership with Brampton Library Admission is free to this program and registration is required.

    Explore simple circuits and switches using paper, copper tape, LEDs, and cell batteries. This hands-on learning activity blends creativity and basic electronics with a rewarding result - it lights up.

Are you ready to become a Museum Detective? Each day will highlight a different object from our various collections to give you an opportunity to make amazing discoveries and creations of your own. These drop-in activities are included in the cost of PAMA admission.

Here is your assignment:

  • July 3 - Grab your magnifying glass and let's get started. You will need to move quickly so start by investigating skateboards for transportation and create your own unique design.  
  • July 5 - Blend into your surroundings and uncover clues by creating a still life masterpiece.  
  • July 31 - Go, Go Gadgets. Create your own invention to help you continue with your case.
    Checkout the rainfall simulator and question our friends from Credit Valley Conservation (CVC).
  • Aug. 2 - This investigation can work up an appetite. Make your move to the "What's for Dinner" exhibit and create a piece of artwork based on something yummy. 
  • Aug. 7 - What can you find in PAMA's abstract artworks?
    The only way to find the clues is to get messy and create your own.
  • Aug. 9 - Do you hear that? Follow the sound of music and see where it takes you.
#Pellet Drums
  • Aug. 14 - The mystery of the landscape painting. Can you solve it?  
  • Aug. 16 - Where will your case take you today? To the farm. Here you will discover where your food comes from and how to befriend a bee as we are joined by experts from the Toronto Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). 
  • Aug. 21 - Is it a bird?  Is it a plane? Take a closer look at PAMA's metal toy planes with
    a hands-on activity.
  • Aug. 23 - Do the eyes follow you as you move? Is the portrait alive?
    Take a closer look and create your own portrait. 
#Scratch Art
  • Aug. 28 - Did the owl, do it? Maybe the turtle knows something.
    Have your questions ready today and ask the experts from Creature Quest.
  • Aug. 30 - Congratulations Museum Detectives, you have earned your PAMA badge.

Three Sisters Workshop 

Sunday, August 19, 2 - 3:30 p.m.
Join in Peel Aboriginal Network (PAN) for an afternoon of storytelling plus a colourful family activity. This workshop is included in the cost of PAMA admission and registration is required. Reserve Your Spot Now

Befriending Bees and Butterflies 

Thursday, August 16, 10 - 11:30 a.m. & 1 - 2 p.m.
Did you know there are over 700 native species of pollinators in Canada? Learn the importance of bees and other pollinators in our local communities through interactive presentation. Everyone will have an opportunity to take home wildflower seeds and a small habitat feature for your backyard. This program is suitable for families with children over the age 6. Children must be accompanied by an adult. 

Please Note: Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult except where noted.
