BRAMPTON, ON (October 1, 2025) - Pay-what-you-can admission continues at the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) this October. Experience a month of music, culture, creativity and connection!

Celebrate African Culture at PAMA

Saturday, Oct. 4

Experience the rhythms, traditions, and languages of Africa through two interactive drumming workshops and a special talk on African languages. Highlights include:

  • 1 p.m. – Rhythms of West Africa with Master Drummer Griot Amadou Kienou and renowned Burkinabé musician Dicko Fils.
  • 3 p.m. – Drumming with the Burundi Drummers showcasing the power of traditional rhythms.

Free as part of Ontario Culture Days. Registration required; all ages welcome.

Cake Decorating Workshop with Chantale Abbott-Keith 

Sunday, Oct. 5, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Get ready for the Thanksgiving season with a hands-on cake decorating workshop led by local cake artist Chantale Abbott-Keith. Learn techniques to elevate your creations and take home a gourmet cupcake from Cakestries.

Pre-registration required. $32 + HST General; $27.20 PAMA member.

Lyrics and Sound Bathing Workshop at PAMA

Thursday, Oct. 9, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

In recognition of World Mental Health Day, join PAMA and the Humble and Hungry Project for an evening of healing through music and words. Begin with a calming sound bath led by Nikki Tugui, then explore lyric writing with Mississauga hip hop artist Vivek Mehmi in a hands-on session of creativity and self-expression.

Halloween at the “Boo-seum”

Saturday, Oct. 18, starting at 10:30 a.m.

Celebrate Halloween at PAMA with spooky, hands-on fun for the whole family. Drop in to the Frankenstein’s Monster Creation Station to build your own creepy companion, then head to the Messy Laboratory for gooey games, slime-making, and bubbling experiments!

  • Monster making is included with pay-what-you-can admission.
  • Registration required for Messy Laboratory sessions at 10:30 a.m.,12 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. with a cost of $11 + HST General, free for members.

 Latin Heritage Month Experience: Coffee, Creativity & Music  

Sunday, Oct.19, 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Celebrate Latin heritage through taste, rhythm and creativity, featuring live music and the rich flavours and aroma of coffee! Team members from downtown Brampton’s much-loved Segovia Coffee Co. will lead an insightful presentation and coffee tasting experience, complimented with mouthwatering Latin-inspired refreshments including empanadas and dulce de leche cookies.   Registration required. $32 + HST General; $27.20 PAMA member.  

Connections Art and Book Club

Thursday, Oct. 23, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Literature and visual arts connect in this distinctive book club. Join Brampton Library and PAMA for a discussion of the book Split Tooth by Tanya Tagaq. The book discussion will be paired with a tour of the exhibition Land, Sea, Sky: Inuit Art from PAMA’s Collection.

This program will take place at PAMA. Free. Registration is required at Connections: Art + Book Club - Brampton Library
